Is this schedule still in effect?

If it is - I am screwed. I arrive on St. Thomas at 1:30pm - get the 4:14 ferry to Road Town and arrive about an hour later. I wanted to take a ferry that same day to Anegada.

The ferry leaves at 3:30. Looks like you get to spend a couple of nights on Tola...

Yep. I just adjusted my itinerary so that I will arrive a day earlier, spend one night on Tortola, and head over to Anegada on Wednesday the 27th.

It's a great problem to have!!!!!

I ran into the same problem a few years back when a flight out of Boston was delayed for 4 hours. The only place with an available room was Sebastian's in the west end which allowed to me discover Smuggler's Cove... I'm back in Anegada in two weeks time and we are purposely getting stuck @ Smuggler's Cove for two nights while waiting for the Friday ferry.

You may find a lot more folks have discovered Smuggler's in the last few years. May cross paths with you in Anegada.

We currently have ferry service six days a week. Road Town Fast Ferry on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and Smith's Ferry on Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday. Round trip tickets do not work between the two companies.

Walker - what's the policy for cargo on the Smith days? If I recall, they used to charge for boxes, but when RTFF took over the route, they didn't charge. Can locals have things sent over on either ferry now without charge?

Cheers!

RTFF is not charging for boxes. Don't know about Smith's.

This has definitely changed? I saw the post on TToL a ways back but when I booked with Randy@Neptune's he wasn't sure when it was starting and neither was the ferry service. Are the departure times out of Road Town the same on all six days?

This has definitely changed. Same times, different companies on the alternating days.

That's awesome and (it) will make things so much easier on our next trip back. Do you know of anyone that would entertain the idea of doing a day sail (group or private) from/to Anegada? We wanted to spend at least a day somewhere (the baths, etc.) else but the 3:30 ferry time makes that nearly impossible. I haven't had any luck so far, even if just for a snorkeling excursion off-island.

Can't speak for anywhere else, but there is no one here that can do it.

jandreas - you should easily be able to do a day trip to Tortola if you take the morning ferry at 8:20 and then return on the 3:30.

If you want to go to the Baths, check with the ferry company and see if they will stop at VG in the morning (arrive by 9:20) and pick you up in the afternoon (pickup around 4pm). It's not on the schedule, but I know for a fact that they have done it in the past. I do believe someone on Anegada arranged it for them, but I'd guess its an option.

Thanks for the idea, I will definitely try the ferry company and see what happens!
