We plan to sail to Anegada in early April, was wondering if we need to reserve a rental car ahead of time-- or whatever they have to drive there, in order to check out Cow Wreck, Loblolly, etc... Or can you just get a vehicle once you arrive on island? Are they normally vehicles available? What is our best option for getting to drive around and check out the island for a day? Thanks for any advise!

I normally recommend calling ahead for a vehicle when possible. We don't have a whole lot of rental vehicles on the island so, some days, there are none available for walk-in rental - especially during the busy season.

However, reservations are a problem for people that are sailing because they put you on a schedule, which is sort of against the whole idea of bareboating.

Early April is not a particularly busy time - in fact, it is normally fairly slow then. I am fairly certain that there will be a vehicle available then. However, if you want something like a truck with seats in the back, then you still need to call ahead as we only have a few of those on the island.

The guy for vehicles is Dean Wheatley - 284-495-9677. If you call him, he will deliver a vehicle to you wherever you are on the island. Dean is one of the best people ever. If you come to Anegada, you want to meet him.
