Hi all,

Our group is interested in doing some short hikes to vistas...any "not to be missed" places?

Thanks,

Denise Smile

Sage Mountain if you have some time on Tortola.

On Virgin Gorda, Biras Creek has this;

On Jost, we walked from Diamond Cay to Little Harbour - great views but Steep and hot!

Norman has some great trails starting behind the bar and the gift shop. Although we've never found the heli-pad...

We haven't done Peter, but there are great trails there.

Just a few ideas...

We plan a quick stop at Salt Island Bay to hike and see the salt ponds and the graves. How is the anchor holding and where is the best place in the bay to anchor?

There are pretty views if you hike the hill west of White Bay, Jost.

On Virgin Gorda there are 2 trails to the top of Gorda Peak and there is an observation deck at the top of the trails. The entrances to both trails are near the scenic pull-offs.

Not sure if a taxi would drop you and come back. I've always done it from a rental car.

We did the Gorda peak trails on our visit in Jan. We had a taxi drop us off at the top trail and pick us up at the bottom trail. Taxi driver (Sweet Ice Willy, who was great by the way) said it would be a 45 min round trip. It took us about 90 minutes easy. but we kind of stopped and smelled to roses.

Only problem was as soon as we got to the top platform a squall came through so we didn't get any good pictures except of the clouds around us!!

I think you'd really have to be moving to do it in 45 minutes. I'd guess 45 minutes for the long trail and 30 for the shorter trail.

From the top platform you can see Anegada on a clear day.

You can walk from Foxy's Taboo to the Bubbly Pool.
You can get some halfway scenic views from the rocks and hill that you pass along the way.
Then of course there's the Bubbly Pool for fun!

There used to be a local hound guide dog that knew where the tourist wanted to go and he would lead you to the pool.
I wonder if he's still there?

We didn't see any hounds when we went to the pool in Jan but went late in the day so maybe they were done for the day.

We did feel like we were going to get ambushed by the goats!!!

Never underestimate the determination of a male goat, like a bull they drop their head and charge.
But it beats a St John Donkey stampede.
