Landed this tarpon on the west end of Anegada. Look at all of the tarpon in the water!

Here are pictures.
The dark spot is a bait ball. You can see tarpon between me and the bait ball.

Look at them!

Talking about backs and tails!

Going for it.

Fish on - but threw the fly.

Got one! Luckily, Nancy had her camera in video mode while I landed the fish.

Man, you do know me. Fried tail is my favorite part! But I'm a catch and release kind of guy for fish like this.

Walker,
John here from Spring, Texas. I havent beenon the site in a while, but my interest was peaked by a trip my wife and I took to Belize back in may......I wasnt planning on fishing, but my wife "made me " hire a guide and go after some bonefish.
Well , long story short, I go my first thru my 16th bone, got a tarpon (but not as big as yours- biut wow, what a rush!). I almost got my triple, when I hooked into a permit late in the day, but broke off my line (didnt throw the hook) after only a minute on.
Having said that, I need to get down to anegada when the fishing is like that.....wow.....i can almost feel the breeze and smell the salt air.......
