We anchored off what used to be called "Drakes Anchorage" a few years ago. It was one of my "off the beaten path" stops. We had a very relaxing afternoon and overnight. Two other boats were anchored there and they weren't close. Holding is good. The reef protects from any North Swells. Horse shoe beach (or is it Honeymoon Beach?) well, anyway, the beach on the north side of Mosquito Island was getting hit hard with swells but we were pretty much anchored in flat water with a nice SE breeze at our bow.
I noticed that area is not even mentioned in the 2007-2008 Cruising Guide to the BVIs so it should remain quiet there for a while.
