I believe there's a "go to" guy on Anegada that can put you on tarpon w/ fly rod.
Not cheap from what I heard.

Walker would have the details.

Tarpon season on Anegada is typically October and November. However, it does vary.
2009: Good seasn October-November.
2010: A great season, August-November.
2011: None - I mean none.
2012: WOW! Began in June, lasted through mid-September. Every time I went out, I caught tarpon until I was worn out.

Go to Youtube and search for "anegada tarpon". You will find a lot of my videos. Here is one of them:

It's really cool to snorkel with the tarpon.
I've found them scattered through the BVI in various places... off the West End of Jost, Monkey Point Guana Island, Pomato Point Anegada, The Dogs.

In 2005 we swam with some absolutely huge tarpon off Jost. My biz partner is 6 foot 5 / 280lb and they seemed about his size!

Walker, what are you throwing at the tarpon down there? Would like to know what works well for tarpon flies so I can narrow my fly selection.

Olive over white clouser that I tie on a 3/0 Tiemco 600SP hook.

That's easy, thanks! Any color/size differences noted around the different islands? I plan to fish wherever I can safely throw a line. Intermediate sinking tip line?
