Will be sailing out of St Thomas this coming June (crew of 11, no boats available in Tortola) and am looking into the possibility of visiting Spanish Virgins during our 10 day charter.

Looks as though getting there is a piece of cake. Returning seems to be something other, however.

Anyone one out there with experiences they wouldn't mind sharing?

You have it right. Trip there is usually downwind/broad reach with seas aft of beam. Coming back is often into the wind and seas. But it is only a few hours and many people motor sail to shorten the trip. Two years ago I returned in light wind and calm seas in a relaxed 4 hours, so you never know. Good luck.
